In an ideal world software applications would be so well designed that their use would be transparent to the user. However, with current technical limitations, this level of usability is rarely achieved. Most software needs to include some form of user support.

User support is divided into two main types:

Support provided from within the software application such as on-line help, tutorials, and usability features such as cue cards and wizards.

Support provided from outside the software application such as manuals, training, and support help-desks.

As part of providing a complete solution Springwater Software will put into place all the necessary elements of outside user support. All the software we produce is fully documented and includes an appropriate training package. We can also advise on establishing the appropriate technical support environment.

However, it is in the area of internal user support that Springwater Software Ltd has something unique to offer. The nature of the software and how it is used is changing. Many of the latest techniques of internal user support are transforming the way people interact with software. These changes are driven by an increasing focus by the software industry on the issue of Usability.

Springwater is at the forefront of understanding these developments and so we can ensure that our software utilises the latest user support techniques. In particular we have extensive experience in help design and the creation of on-line hypertext documents.
